To add a new course:

  1. Click the Add Course button - the Add Course form will be shown.
  2. Enter the Course Name.
  3. Enter a Description of the course. This should detail the overall anticipated learning outcomes for the course.
  4. Choose an appropriate Course Format to ensure the most appropriate layout for the course menu. (Beta)
  5. Choose the Default Content type for the course. This will affect the presentation of the learning menu and affect the default Content Type selected when adding a new Tutorial.
  6. Enter the Dimensions of the course. It is sensible to use the dimensions of any screen shots that were taken for the learning so that they are not stretched.
  7. Leave the In Development check box ticked if the course is unfinished. This is a safe way of avoiding any unfinished work being published accidentally.
  8. Enter a Short Course Name. This name will appear in the Knowledge Bank when listing the search results.
  9. The Brand will be fixed as Local Content.
  10. Choose a Category from the drop down list. Categories can be managed using the Config page.
  11. Choose a Topic from the drop down list. Topics can be managed using the Config page.
  12. Optionally, upload a thumbnail image for your course - this will be used when displaying course information in search results.
  13. Indicate whether the course Includes diagnostic (pre-learning test) and / or Includes assessment (post-learning test) using the checkboxes.
  14. Indicate whether the course Includes development log allowing delegates to plan and log development activities related to the course.
  15. Enter the number of Assessment Attempts allowed either by typing it into the box or using the up/down arrows. The default option of ‘0’ equates to unlimited assessment attempts.
  16. Your name in the Created By field will be populated by default and will not be editable.
  17. The Centre field will also be populated by default with your centre name.
  18. Optionally, click the + expander to set Custom Labels and Settings:

NOTE: The Custom Labels and Settings feature gives you detailed control over the appearance and wording of the learning menu. This can be useful to fine tune the user interface to the requirements of the activity. Bear in mind that alterations to the interface may make it less familiar to delegates and should only be used where necessary.
