The Backstage View

Clicking the Backstage View button will open the Backstage View:

New Project

Closes the existing project, asking you to save first if appropriate, then creates a new project and opens the New Project Settings dialogue box.

Save

Saves changes to the current project.

Save As

Opens the Save As dialogue box. Specifying a new folder for your project will save your project to that location, copying all of the sub-folders and required files along with it.

When saving as, you will be prompted to confirm whether or not a new folder should be created for your project, just as you would if you were saving your project for the first time.

Open

Opens the Open dialogue box, allowing you to browse your filing system for an existing project and open it. If you already have a project open with unsaved changes, you will be prompted to save changes to it, first.

Publish

Opens the publish to zip dialogue box, allowing you to publish your project for upload to the Digital Learning Solutions Content Management System. See Publish Group for details.

Close

Closes the current project. If you have unsaved changes, you will be prompted to save changes, first.

Recent

The Recent tab gives access to the Recent Projects and Recent Places lists.

  • Recent Projects lists the ten most recent projects opened. Click a project to open it.
  • Recent Places lists the ten most recent file locations used for storing projects. Click a location to browse to it.

Import

Gives access to the Import Content Script and Import Assessment Template commands. These commands are also available from and described in the Project ribbon / Import group.

Project Settings

Opens the Project Settings dialogue box.

Help

Opens this help documentation.

Exit

Closes any open projects and exits the application. If you have a project open with unsaved changes, you will be prompted to save changes to it, first.
