Working with the Supervise grid
The Supervise grid displays information in the following columns:
Name - Delegate Name and number
Activity - The name of the course or activity that you are supervisor for (and the customisation name as set in Course Setup). This can be a very useful column to group by.
Enrolled - The date on which the delegate was enrolled on the course (or first started it)
Last Access - The date that the delegate last accessed the course (useful to see whether delegates are actively accessing the course or need chasing up)
Complete By - If set, the date by which the user should have completed the course (this may be set by an administrator during enrollment, calculated by the system for activities with "Complete within months" set, or specified by the delegate if not otherwise set)
Completed - The date on which the delegate Completed the course (met the specified completion criteria or had the course marked as complete by an administrator)
Ver Req - The number of self-assessment verification requests a user has submitted for the activity. These require action by the supervisor.
To search the Supervise grid
Enter your search term in the Search box above the list and press the Return key.
Any entries that match your search term (across any of the columns) will be displayed.
Click the x at the right hand end of the search box to clear the search.
Sorting, Grouping Filtering, Showing and Hiding Columns
The Customise Grid button will allow you to apply complex sorting, grouping, filtering, showing and hiding options to columns in the Supervise list.
To Sort the list
- Click the Customise Grid button
- Ensure the Sorting tab is selected
- Tick the columns to sort by
The sort direction and order by which the columns are sorted can be adjusted in the upper portion of the dialogue box.
- Click the tick button to apply.
Simple sorting can also be applied by clicking the column headings in the grid - once for ascending order, a second time for descending order.
To Group the list
Grouping is most appropriate when it is applied to a column that contains repeated values, such as the Activity column.
- Click the Customise Grid button
- Ensure the Grouping tab is selected
- Tick the columns to group by

- Click the tick button to apply.
To Filter the list
The Customise Grid dialogue contains powerful filtering tools. Filtering options are adjusted according to the type of data contained in a column, for example a date column will allow filtering between two dates or for a range of preset date ranges.
- Click the Customise Grid button
- Ensure the Filtering tab is selected
- Click the column to filter on
- Specify the filtering criteria either by typing a value or, if applicable, by clicking LOAD VALUES TO SELECT and then choosing from the filter options provided
- Repeat for any further columns to be filtered on
- Click the tick button to apply.
Simple filtering can also be applied using the filter buttons in the column headings.
Showing, hiding and reordering columns
- Click the Customise Grid button
- Ensure the Column Chooser tab is selected
- Tick and untick columns to set their visibility
- Drag columns up and down using the hamburger icon to change the order of columns
- Click the tick button to apply.
Columns can also be reordered by dragging the column heading to another position on the grid.
Clearing Grouping, Sorting and Filtering Options
The toolbar above the list provides tools for clearing the grouping, sorting and filtering options applied to the list individually.
